  • Willow Leaves By Morris: Each coaster carries Willow Bough Blue, the willow-leaf pattern William Morris first drew in 1887, its slender grey-blue leaves trailing across a soft cream ground. The design is taken from the Morris & Co. archive and is designed in Britain.
  • Half A Dozen Squares: There are six coasters here, enough to set one at every place and keep a couple spare, and each is a 4.13 inch square that holds a mug, glass or cup with the willow pattern framing it. At 5mm thick the board is solid underhand and stays put rather than sliding across the table.
  • Resists Heat And Spills: The lacquered finish seals the print and resists both heat and stains, holding a hot mug or cup at up to 212°F (100°C) and wiping clean of tea, coffee and spills with a damp cloth. Keep the coasters out of the dishwasher and away from long soaking to protect the pattern.
  • Cork Protects The Wood: A hardwearing cork back grips the surface and keeps heat rings and scratches off polished wood and glass. The cool blue-grey willow feels calm and unfussy, settling into traditional, coastal and country-style rooms as readily as a pared-back modern table, and it pairs with the matching Willow Bough Blue placemats.
  • Designed In Britain: Pimpernel designs its ranges in Britain and introduced the rigid coaster back in 1933, giving it more than 90 years of board-making behind every piece. It produces Willow Bough Blue under licence from Morris & Co. and sits today within the Portmeirion Group of British tableware brands.
